Moonrise is one of Dubai’s most impressive restaurants. Situated on the rooftop of Eden House in Satwa, this 12-seater chef's table restaurant is under the leadership of Chef Solemann Haddad. Young, energetic and brilliant, Chef Solemann brings with him a fresh modern take on Middle Eastern food, showcasing bold explosive flavours in each and every dish. Moonrise holds a Michelin star, is currently listed at No. 10 on the Middle East and North Africa’s 50 Best Restaurants and Solemann was awarded 1 knife in the 2024 edition of The Best Chef.

What to Order at Moonrise Dubai

The 12-course tasting menu commences with the Dubai take on Pani Puri; a tasty appetiser comprising pineapple and saffron chutney with date syrup, Szechuan chilli oil and a light foie gras ganache, topped with umami truffle shavings. Courses include the mouthwatering acidic tartlet featuring local tomato, dried wild zaatar (herb blend) and micro greens as well as the Sicilian prawn dish seasoned with Aleppo chilli, black lime, balsamic and ponzu. Moonrise’s signature dish is Solemann’s elevated take on a childhood classic; a grilled cheese sandwich. This version incorporates Hokkaido milk bread with a creamy black pepper and 36-month aged Parmigiano Reggiano emulsion, topped with Thai black garlic and winter truffle; a seriously sensational snack. Stand out dishes include the Fattoush ceviche showcasing a beautiful tangy refreshing sauce alongside a succulent piece of dry-aged Shima aji (Striped Jack fish) as well as the Saroma A5 Sirloin served with flavourful beef jus and black lime spice blend, together with that signature citrus punch. Moonrise offers an impressive wine list; the wine pairing is a great addition to this brilliant 12-course tasting menu.

Is Moonrise Dubai Worth Visiting?

Moonrise is a spectacular dining experience. Front of house – previously under the direction of Farhan Mohammed, now managed by the newly appointed Ashley Rosenberg – runs like a well-oiled machine. Look forward to a colourful dining experience while being mesmerised by the artful precision taking place at the open kitchen chef’s table. Exceptional service and phenomenally tasty comfort food, make Moonrise a truly memorable dining destination.
