I recently visited Pigalle in Melrose Arch. Pigalle is predominantly a seafood restaurant and its situated on the first floor of Melrose Arch overlooking the piazza.

My benedict and I were treated to a 5 course menu on the day of our visit. Having visited two of the Pigalle branches previously, we were certainly opting for the seafood options for our main meals. So we started our visit with a glass of the Tokara Chardonnay - perfect for seafood pairing. We were then served our amuse bouche; a flavoursome spicy butternut soup uniquely presented in an espresso cup along with a warm freshly baked bun. Such a tasty treat. For my starter, I opted for the stuffed Falkland calamari, which was crumbed, fried and served with chorizo. This was quite a tasty starter however, I found the chorizo flavour overpowered the calamari somewhat. None the less, I did enjoy it. My benedict chose the pear and almond salad starter. A fresh and beautifully presented salad. Both starters are rather large size portions, especially if you’re having three full courses, so be sure to arrive very hungry ;-) We were then served palate cleansers; a refreshing lemon sorbet. For mains, we selected the queen prawns. They’re served with either a lemon butter or a garlic butter and a choice of sides including mixed vegetables, rice and chips. Pigalle’s seafood is always great and their queen prawns are no different. The prawns were of good quality, perfectly cooked and oh so delicious! For dessert my benedict chose the chocolate fondant. It was perfectly prepared and oozed a hot decadent chocolate malt. I opted for the crème brûlée. Having had this dessert before from Pigalle, there was no way that I was not having the crème brûlée. It was just as amazing as I’d remembered it. To this day I still proclaim that Pigalle serves THE best crème brûlée.

Pigalle in Melrose Arch is a really beautiful restaurant with an elegant setting – I love their large Colonial style fans. The service was really great and we were well attended to. Pigalle is one of my favourite seafood restaurants (they do also serve meat dishes but I tend to always order their seafood dishes). Their portions are very generous and the food is always great. I looked forward to visiting Pigalle again soon for some seafood and of course that fantastic crème brûlée.
