I’m a frequent visitor at Café del Sol Classico in Olivedale. Whenever I’m craving pasta, it’s without a doubt my restaurant of choice. Having only ever been to their Olivedale branch, I decided to try Café del Botanico in Bryanston. The Café del Sol restaurants are a family run group serving wholesome Italian cuisine.
Café del Sol Botanico is situated in Bryanston Shopping Centre. It’s a beautifully decorated restaurant. We were served garlic pita bread strips on our arrival. These were freshly made and very tasty. I then started my meal with a glass of sauvignon blanc and the mussels starter. The mussels were served in a creamy fennel, garlic, parsley and white wine sauce along with some fresh ciabatta bread. This was delicious. For my main I ordered the Penne con salsiccia e porcini. This was penne pasta served in a creamy napoletana sauce with Italian pork sausages and porcini mushrooms. As usual, Café del Sol never ceases to amaze me as far as pastas are concerned; I loved it! This was a truly great pasta with a delicious and wholesome authentic Italian sauce. For dessert I had the Gelato artiganale – three scoops of homemade ice cream. I opted for the white chocolate, peanut butter and crème brûlée; a great choice. The homemade ice cream was superb and the flavours very real tasting. My absolute favourite was the peanut butter flavoured ice cream. I could not get enough of this absolutely delectable ice cream.
Café del Sol Botanico is yet another one of the impressive branches belonging to the Café del Sol range of restaurants. The restaurant has a lovely setting and the service is fantastic! Thoroughly enjoyed my meal and experience at Café del Sol Botanico.
